New Emyoku album to be released this week…
Emyoku’s second full length album, entitled “All of One”, is set to be released on iTunes this week (Rhapsody and Amazon coming a bit later). The album is 14 tracks of electronic goodness and is about an hour in total duration. This album is quite a bit different than the first in that it has less of an ambient electronica feel and more of an upbeat, harder hitting quality to it. That being said, there are some songs on the album that are a bit more on the ‘chill’ side. Also, many of the tracks have vocals by both Zak and Andrew. Overall, the music draws from numerous styles (electronica, hip hop, acoustic, rock, etc.) but comes together to form a cohesive and refreshing playlist. Stay tuned for the release…

I love these images of the Saturn system. They’re put together in the above video by designer/director Chris Abbas. Check here for more of his work.
The two dudes in LMFAO are uncle and nephew AND related to the head of Motown
When I first heard LMFAO, I thought they were the music equivalent of Jackson Pollock- meaning that anybody can do what they do, but they just happen to be the two right guys and just the right time. Make some standard electronic and hip-hop beats, chant-rap over it = PROFIT!
But now I see that they are directly related to the guy who started Motown Records and I think… they are the music equivalent of Nancy Sinatra. Now, I’m not saying I don’t enjoy some of their tunes, but this kind of spoils it a little for me- anybody else???
From Wikipedia:
LMFAO is an American electro hop duo that formed in 2006 in Los Angeles, California, consisting of rappers and DJs Redfoo, (Stefan Kendal Gordy, born September 3, 1975)[2][3] and SkyBlu (Skyler Husten Gordy, born August 23, 1986).[4] They are the son and grandson, respectively, of Motown record label founder Berry Gordy, making them uncle and nephew.[5][6] Their music incorporates a theme of partying and drinking, and the group commonly refers to their music style as “party rock.” The name LMFAO is the acronym for “Laughing My Fucking Ass Off” and is pronounced letter by letter.
Also, I didn’t come upon this- someone else did.
But still… they are having fun:
